English Language Institute at Abu Dhabi University

The English Language Institute (ELI) is proud to offer a range of language foundation and pre-sessional programmes to help students learn language.

ELI also welcome applications from professional and business clients, as well as from individuals who wish to enhance their general and specialised language skills for career or leisure purposes.

At the ELI, our courses are scheduled at both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain campuses from 8: 00 a.m. to 9: 00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday during the academic semesters.

Short courses focusing on specialised language areas are also offered during winter and summer breaks.

The mission of the English Language Institute is to equip English language learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate effectively within the context of their academic programmes or their professional and personal lives.


Abu Dhabi University opened its doors in 2003 to an entering class of 1,000 students on its two campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. The founders of the university envisioned an institution that would be among the best in the United Arab Emirates, the Arabian Gulf region and throughout the world. This is a great challenge for a new institution of higher learning, but one that can and will be attained in the years ahead. Abu Dhabi University offers a range of undergraduate degrees and postgraduate degrees based upon the American model of higher education
