Background

Al Muna Primary opened in September 2009 and is centrally located in the very heart of the city. As with other Aldar schools, Al Muna is a popular choice with English-speaking expats. The school is a truly international community with families from over 52 nationalities. Al Muna offers the English National Curriculum, tailor made to meet the needs of an international community. The school’s excellent facilities include a 25m swimming pool, a football pitch, a netball court, a sports hall, an extensive library and computer suites. There will be dedicated play areas for the Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students. Along with core subjects, lessons in French, Arabic and Islamic studies are also provided, helping to develop cross-cultural understanding and produce genuine international citizens. Al Muna School was inspected in September 2012 by ADEC and was awarded a Grade A – a high achieving school – with many aspects being graded as ‘outstanding’.

Quotes from the parents

"A phenomenal school with extremely high academic standards. The children are constantly challenged and learn so much and are happy in the process. They also have a special knack for hiring simply wonderful teachers – smart, skilled, creative and down to earth people who clearly find so much joy in teaching children. The school is also well known for its exceptional student diversity and its warm, family like community – highly recommended."– edarabia.com, March 2013

"I have only positive things to say the Al Muna Primary School. The teaching and quality of the facilities are excellent and most importantly our daughter is very happy there." – Parent, Year 2, Expat Arrivals forum
