The Middle Years (Years 7 to 9)

The Middle Years Program for students in Years 7 to 9 guides students through the transition from Primary School to be both academically and socially ready for the demands of the Senior Years. The excellent and expanding Middle School facilities at our Senior Campus enable staff to lead the students through a curriculum that is both challenging and engaging. In addition to furthering students’ academic skills the Middle Years program offers a wide range of opportunities to students for social emotional and spiritual development. A key part of this is the combined Christian Studies and HPE program undertaken by Year 9 students called Ubuntu. Throughout the year students tackle a range of challenges and the project culminates in a two week outdoor education experience at Mt Binga. Additionally alongside the traditional curriculum students participate in a Thinking Skills program which aims to equip the students with a range of skills enabling them to think creatively and critically. Students are then encouraged to use these skills in other areas of the curriculum deepening and enriching their learning experience. Middle School students all participate in our leadership program through membership of a multi age group TEAM of their interest including; Environment community Health and Worship.
