Canada's second largest city, Montreal is devoted to fun and pleasure, and its central location in North America, close to many other North American centers, makes it an ideal place for a "language, culture, adventure" experience.

ESL Program Introduction

GEOS Montreal offers Intensive English Courses, Full-Time English Courses, Part-Time English Courses in the AM and Part-Time English Courses in the PM. Students study four English skills - reading, writing, speaking and listening - through a “Communicative Language Teaching” methodology. New grammar patterns are learned in the context of a conversation or a real-life situation. Students also use various activities to practice English conversation including listening tasks, role plays, and discussions. Practical reading and writing tasks and vocabulary studies are presented as well in our 6 available levels. Students can begin on any Monday.

Housing/Accommodation Info

The GEOS Homestay Program is intended to give visiting foreign students a first-hand experience of Canadian culture by sharing in everyday host family life. As well as being able to use practical English or French language skills they have learned in school, it is expected that students will be able participate in family activities for a holistic view of life in Montreal. A GEOS staff member visits each of our host families with students’ interests in mind. All families have also had a police background check. Our aim is to provide our students with a secure, educational and vibrant environment. Our host families live in safe, comfortable neighborhoods in Montreal and in neighboring suburbs. Alternatively, we can also place you in a student residence close to the school, and we can also make arrangements to find you a furnished apartment during your studies.
