Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology is the largest college
in Northern Ontario and one of 24
colleges of applied arts and technology that comprise the Ontario
College System. A publicly funded, postsecondary institution established
in 1967, Cambrian provides career-oriented education that combines
theory with practical, hands-on experience to ensure an educated,
skilled graduate.
As are most colleges in the Canadian educational system, Cambrian is a
Ministry-recognized diploma and certificate granting institution.
Approximately 4, 500 students are
enrolled in some 70 full-time
programs. An additional 7, 500
registrations are taken annually in part-time personal, professional and
human resources development courses and seminars and other customized

Sudbury A Safe and Dynamic City
Cambrian College's main campus is located in The City of Greater
Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, a four-hour (375 km) drive northwest of
Toronto. Accessible by air, highway and rail, Sudbury is a safe and
dynamic community that offers many of the amenities of the "big city"
while still retaining the 'small town warmth and friendliness that has
won the praise of visitors from all over the world.
With a population of about 160, 000,
Sudbury has become Northern Ontario's centre for communication,
government, health care, retail, business and the arts.
Surrounded by open spaces and about 330
lakes in the Region, Sudbury has a range of climatic conditions, which
provides Sudburians with the opportunity to participate in a variety of
indoor and outdoor recreational and sporting activities.
With an average temperature of about 23C, summers in Sudbury (May to
August) are warm and suited for such outdoor activities as swimming,
boating, fishing, golfing, hiking, and biking. The winter's sunshine and
crisp air combine with fresh snow to make Sudbury an ideal location for
cross-country and downhill skiing, indoor and outdoor ice skating,
hockey, ice fishing, and snowmobiling.
Cambrian Welcomes International Students
Cambrian
College welcomes students from all over the world. Through its
International Office, the College provides a variety of orientation and
support services to international students to ensure a positive Cambrian
and Canadian experience. These services include free pick up at the
Sudbury airport or the bus station, assistance in finding off-campus
accommodation, assistance in accessing health services, banking, and
counseling and employment services. The college has also set aside
special funding to financially support international students in the
form of scholarships and on-campus employment. English Language programs and on-campus
accommodation are also available to international students.
Cambrian's overseas locations
Cambrian College programs are offered at its international location in
India, students in this country can obtain a Cambrian education. The
following diploma programs are available to Indian students at the
Achariya campus: After successfully completing two semesters at the Achariya Campus, students can transfer their full credits to continue their education at Cambrian College in Canada. During the past two decades, Cambrian College has established a number of linkages with other institutions and organizations around the world that contribute to student mobility, local economic development, staff development, and institutional advancement. We have worked with a number of countries, including Zambia, China, Peru, Botswana, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Libya, Tanzania, Malawi, Nicaragua, Saudi Arabia, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Germany, Scotland, Finland and Spain. International students come to Cambrian for full-time postsecondary and customized programs. Teachers and other individuals come to Cambrian to upgrade their technical skills, to learn new teaching methods, and to collaborate with College faculty in areas that are mutually beneficial. Canadian educators and students are placed overseas in a variety of teaching, internship, program development, and other technical assistance roles. All international activities at the College are coordinated by the Cambrian International office. The department initiates, develops, and carries out all international projects and provides support to the College community in the internationalization of the campus and the curriculum. Cambrian International also distributes promotional material overseas, hosts delegations from other countries, responds to requests for training, and prepares formal training proposals. Degree options Cambrian's articulation agreements To ensure Cambrian graduates have the opportunity to enhance their credentials, Cambrian College has signed a number of agreements with Canadian and international universities. These agreements formally recognize College credits and facilitate the transfer of these credits between institutions.
