School Introduction Limerick College of Business Studies is situated at 56 O Connell Street Limerick, Ireland, in the heart of Limerick City.
LCBS is a third level education institution that provides a cross section of products and services especially geared to finance professionals and to both national and international students, ranging from base start to professional specialist qualifications.
The core products offered at the college are the ACCA Qualification (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CAT (Certified Accounting Technician) and ABE. A new introduction in 2009 is the CIMA Professional Qualification (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) and the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting.
The English Department at LCBS offers English assistance, Financial English qualifications, General English tuition and preparation for Cambridge examinations for all students who wish or need to improve their English language skills.
ESL Program Introduction
LCBS provides both General and Business English tuition to students. The LCBS courses include Business English Certificates, ICFE courses, General English courses and Summer Courses
Business English Certificate (BEC): BEC is an internationally recognised Cambridge English Course. Completion of this course demonstrates to employers that a student has the English language skills to communicate effectively in any business context. It is divided into three levels; BEC Preliminary, Vantage, BEC Higher, catering for students from an intermediate right up to proficiency level.
International Certificate in Financial English (ICFE): Awarded by University of Cambridge and the ACCA the Cambridge ICFE is a high level English Language Qualification for accountants and finance professionals. ICFE is an internationally recognised qualification which will enhance a students C.V. and make him/her more appealing to prospective employers by demonstrating a mastery of English.
General English: General English Courses are also available at LCBS and can be arranged to facilitate student needs. General English Courses ease students integration into an English speaking country and aids them to cope with daily life in a new environment.
Summer Courses: Students can enroll in LCBS business or general English summer courses. These residential courses allow students to combine English Language tuition with a holiday in Ireland.
