Location

Senior College Dun Laoghaire is located on two campuses. The main buildings are located on Eblana Avenue in Dun Laoghaire . A second campus is located in Blackrock.

Dun Laoghaire campus

 

The main buildings of Senior College Dún Laoghaire are located in the historic town of Dún Laoghaire, 10 kilometres from Dublin City Centre. Dún Laoghaire is a ferry port, and is located in the hinterland of "Dublin's Riviera" - the stretch of coast encompassing Dalkey and Killiney.

The college is serviced by an excellent public transport infrastructure. The Dart station is just a five-minute stroll away and the 46A, 7, 8, 111 and 75 bus routes also service the town. The N11 and M50 are also easily accessed.

Dun Laoghaire has undergone a renaissance in recent years. The town centre has been pedestrianised and the cafes, bars and shopping provide an excellent service to the college community.

Blackrock campus




The seaside village of Blackrock takes its name from a distinctive black rock, once clearly visible at low tide. The rock itself has disappeared through erosion but the village continues to thrive. Senior College Blackrock is part of the Blackrock library, a handsome Carnegie building built in 1905.

The College is serviced by an excellent public transport infrastructure:
dart (Railway): 5 minutes walk from Blackrock Station
Bus: 7, 7A, 45 from Dublin ; 7, 7A from Dún Laoghaire ; 45 from Bray; 17 from Dundrum; 114 from Kilcross.

The N11 and the M50 are also easily accessed.

International applicants: Information/ FAQs
All current full-time SCD courses have been included on the Irish Department of Education and Science's International Register of programmes approved by the Minister for Education and Science for the purpose of access to employment by students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland. Students are advised to check exact course titles with the College before applying for visas.
