EISP was founded on the concept of helping pupils to use language effectively and to increase their range and understanding of grammatically correct English by providing opportunities through speaking, listening, reading and writing. The school recognizes that each pupil has his or her own unique set of skills and abilities and offers a wide variety of learning opportunities with differentiated activities to sort different learning rates, styles, interests and abilities, including work at a higher cognitive level. All aspects of the school’s curricular and extra-curricular activities are student-centred and designed to accommodate individual learning styles so that all may experience success. All teaching staff hold university degrees and teaching certificates. Full-time Italian teachers are responsible for implementing the Italian language. The school year runs from early September until late June and consists of approximately 180 days. Each school day is from 08: 45 until 16: 00, Monday to Friday. General facilities for both the Primary and Secondary schools include three science labs, two computer suites, two gymnasiums and four libraries. An on-site sports field is used for both organized sport and recreation; in addition rooms are available for group work, art and craft, dance and drama. The Secondary School in a separate purpose-built building, 30m from the primary school. This is due to the continuing expansion of both schools. Admission is dependent on reports from previous schools, interview and English language acquisition in particular for the Secondary School.
