School Introduction

Hawaii Language School is located in the beautiful Waikiki neighborhood of Honolulu, Hawaii. We are located within walking distance of gorgeous beaches, great restaurants, convenient accommodations, and lively entertainment spots. Although we want our students to study, and improve, as much as they can while they are taking classes in Hawaii, we also want them to take advantage of all the unique activities that Hawaii has to offer on a year-round basis.
Hawaii Language School has teamed with Rosetta Stone, the world's most popular language education software, so our students can study in a flexible atmosphere. For example: Students are welcome to complete their studies in their home countries while connecting via the internet with our teachers for support; come to Hawaii and study intensively at our school for weeks or months at a time; or combine the pleasures and benefits of both of those options. However, no matter which location our students select, they can always study at their own pace and move ahead to the next level when they possess the skills and confidence to do so.
At Hawaii Language School, one of our most important goals is to present language students with study options that fit comfortably into their busy lives. We are working hard to make sure that we provide each of our students with the academic support, and customer service, they need in order to reach their language learning goals successfully.

ESL Program Introduction

Students of all skill levels are welcome to study at Hawaii Language School. We have classes for students who range from being true beginners to those who speak almost fluently but still want to improve in certain areas.
Although we mainly support the study of English, Mandarin, and Japanese at our school in Hawaii, our on-line students are also welcome to purchase a 1-year Rosetta Stone license from us and study from the comfort of their homes one of the 25 languages found on the software. The support of on-line students is accomplished via Internet connections. Conveniently, since new classes start each Monday, students can begin their studies almost immediately.
Hawaii Language School has crafted its curriculum around a 4-skills approach to learning. This means that we include speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities throughout the lessons of each level. If we tend to focus on one area at times, that area would be speaking. We are committed to having our students be able to speak confidently when they step outside the classroom.
Along with the 4 basic skills of language learning, we also include the sub-skills of pronunciation, vocabulary building, social and cultural awareness, and grammar when appropriate. We offer a well-rounded curriculum that prepares students to speak their new language confidently and skillfully.
Hawaii Language School also offers test preparation classes such as SAT, ACT, GED, TOEFL, and TOEIC.

Schedule & Fees

Since our students have many, many study options to choose from, it is difficult to say just how much each student will pay in tuition. The following information, though, can be used as guidelines:

Waikiki Classroom
A) 10-Week Classroom Session: 6 days a week; Personalized attention; Unlimited classroom access; One-year license for internet access to materials – before, during, and after Waikiki classroom sessions; Weekly group activities. US $2, 500 (includes a non-refundable $50 Application/Registration Fee)
B) 3-Week Classroom Session: 6 days a week; Personalized attention; Unlimited classroom access; One-year license for internet access to materials – before, during, and after Waikiki classroom sessions ; Weekly group activities. US $1, 300 (includes a non-refundable $50 Application/Registration Fee)

Outreach Program
A) Individualized Rosetta Stone one-year license for internet access anywhere in the world and personal teacher with communications by way of email and/or Skype. US $600 (includes a non-refundable $50 Application/Registration Fee)
B) Individualized Rosetta Stone one-year license for internet access anywhere in the world and 16 @ thirty-minute video sessions throughout the year with small group (1 – 5 students) along with personal teacher by way of email and/or Skype. US $1, 300 (includes a non-refundable $50 Application/Registration Fee)
Private Lessons/Semi-Private Lessons:
Private and Semi-private lessons are available but prices are dependent on the type of program (language or test prep) in which you wish to receive instruction. Please check with us to receive the current prices.

Kama’aina Rates
Hawaii has a tradition of offering its residents (called ‘kama’aina’ in the Hawaiian language) discounted prices on some products and services. In keeping with that tradition, Hawaii Language School is pleased to offer qualifying local residents discounted study rates. Housing/Accommodation Info

Students who travel to Hawaii by themselves are encouraged to arrange their own accommodations. However, for those who need assistance, we will be happy to help guide them through the accommodations process. We will arrange housing for students who arrive as part of a large group
