School Introduction

Britannia College is a member of the David Game College Group in the UK. Based in a quiet street in the historic Baroque city of Valletta it is popular among adult students looking for a small, select school that offers personal service. All our teachers are English native speakers and are rigorously selected for their qualifications, experience and maturity.

Apart from general English courses we specialise in Business English and exam preparation. As we are a small school we can tailor-make private tuition courses to suit individual needs on demand. Host tutor programmes is one of the way we can provide this individual attention. Course completion certificates are issue at the end of each course.

Wile conserving all its grand architectural features such as painted ceilings Britannia College, a former Art nouveau gentleman's residence, has been recently converted with all modern amenities. Classrooms are spacious, light and airy. They have air-conditioning internet access and the necessary audio or audio-visual equipment needed.

Coffee, tea and internet access are free of charge in our internet cafe.

ESL Program Introduction

We run General English courses for an average of 6-8 and a maximum of 10 students, or in mini-group classes of 4 starting every Monday of the year. Business English and ESP courses can also start at any time.

The morning courses consist of 20 45-minute lessons per week Monday to Friday. Afternoon courses are for 10 lessons of 45-minutes each except for private tuition which can be extended to 20 lessons in the afternoon.

Speaking, reading, writing and listening skills are all covered during the lessons.
Worklife English is a course specially designed for students around the intermediate level who want to improve their English skills specifically for travel or the workplace. An effective alternative to Business English.

Cambridge Exam preparation courses are held for 13 weeks from 22 March and 22 September.

The IELTS exam is held in Valletta at a short distance from Britannia College 14 times a year. Group afternoon or private full-time courses are held on request.

Housing/Accommodation Info

There is a 2-bedroom penthouse flat at the top of the school with views of Sliema and Marsamxett harbour and the Valletta skyline for students who wish to stay there. Self-catering guesthouse accommodation is also available.
