School Introduction

St George Institute of Learning (St George) is a well-established institute specialising in Business, Computing and English language training. It is registered and accredited by The New Zealand Qualifications Authority as a education establishment, and a member of APPEL.

We are located in downtown Auckland at Shortland Street, a well known, high profile street off Queen Street, the main Auckland thoroughfare.

St George presently offers English language courses at all levels with either practical, academic or business applications. We specialise in academic English and encourage our students to take the IELTS examination. Each class has a maximum of 12 students and no more.

A range of certificate and diploma courses are also available to students covering all aspects and levels of business and computing.

Our teachers are all highly qualified and experienced. Essentially, we seek to ensure that all students have maximum opportunity to reach their academic and career goals.

Housing/Accommodation Info

We are very proud of the superb group of local families who host our students and we feel that the quality of the home stay accommodation is one of our most attractive features. Of course the beauty of New Zealand as a place to study English is legendary, and our families are real families, not impersonal boarding houses. Staying with a friendly family and studying in a good school gives our students total immersion in the language and that brings real progress fast. We have permanent staff responsible for the careful selection and continuous assessment of our families to ensure a very high standard. During year 2005 accommodation with a family is likely to cost $190-200 a week. Students wishing to make their own arrangements for accommodation are, of course, free to do so.
