Enrollment is open for students who have a verifiable need for an American curriculum program. The K-12 student/faculty ratio is 12 to 1 and the teachers, primarily United States citizens, are all qualified in their fields. AIS-R is parent owned, licensed by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Education and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Council of International Schools. The school provides an enriched American curriculum and offers an ESL program. AIS-R has 175 classrooms, two libraries with technology substations, 11 science labs (six computerized), 10 computer labs, a large air-conditioned gymnasium, a new purpose-built theater, three multi-purpose courts, two full size grass athletic field, two full service cafeterias, and a large outdoor playground area. Available sports include volleyball, basketball, softball and soccer. Extracurricular activities include choral music, student government, drama, spirit squad, yearbook and an extensive after-school activities program. The school also offers classes in art, band, orchestra, speech, drama, computer sciences, Spanish, French and Arabic. AIS-R cannot accept students who are physically, mentally or emotionally handicapped to the degree that they cannot be enrolled in a regular program of studies.
