Learning Support Programme
The International School of Belgrade (ISB) is located on two campuses in the residential area of Senjak. The Lower School (Pre K through grade 5) consists of a remodeled villa with adjacent classroom blocks as well as a multi-purpose room and a beautiful playground. Our new purpose built ISB Middle School facility (grades 6-8) and the ISB High School (grades 9-12) are located on a 2. 5 hectare site about 200 meters from the Lower School that includes the new Gymnasium and tennis court. Facilities are well-equipped. ISB is an IB World School authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program, Middle Years Program and the Diploma Program with a comprehensive curriculum designed to meet the needs of the school's international student body. Students may elect to study French, Spanish or Serbian as a foreign language; English as an Additional Language is offered to all non-English-speaking students. An extensive after-school activities program is available for all students, and ISB Middle School and High School students actively participate in the Central East European Schools Association events. The student body, representing 35 nationalities, is mobile, with the average length of stay of about three years. Nine nationalities are represented in the professional staff. Founded in 1948, ISB is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees, three of whom are appointed by the American ambassador, two are elected by the Association of the International School of Belgrade and two are appointed by the ISB Board of Trustees. Membership to the Association is automatically conferred on the parents or guardians of children enrolled in the school. Student admission to the school is by application. Kindergarten pupils must be five years old by September 1. The school is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Council of International Schools.
