School Introduction
English in Africa is a newly opened language school in Hout Bay - a leafy suburb of Cape Town boasting one of the best beaches in the country. The climate is warm Mediterranean and the mix of African cultures , nature, and the proximity of the city makes it an ideal destination.
Our mission to teach English as a second language to people from all over the world, from absolute beginners to university level English speakers.We strive to create a professional and productive environment for our students, yet in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere , all in a very original and inspiring setting. At English in Africa we don't believe that there is a universal way to learn a language, therefore wer offer courses designed to specifically to satisfy your needs. You can enroll every Monday and you can choose from 2 weeks to 52 weeks course. You can individually adjust the length, intensity and focus of your study.
Our school has the ambition to become the first environmentally friendly institution of its kind in Africa. Our vision is to become a completely CO2 neutral business with 0 percent non recycled waste. We cooperate with local environmentally friendly organizations and offer our students information and lectures on nature conservation and green living alternatives.
We are very passionate about Cape Town and Hout Bay in particular, and we would love to share it with you. ESL Program Introduction
We offer 7 different programs for our students. The Standard Course runs for 20 lessons per week of general English, the Intensive course adds another 10 lessons per week of afternoon conversation classes. Then, there's a Standard + Course and Intensive + Course , which offer 5 private one to one lessons per week atop of each course respectively, making Standard + to be 25 lessons a week and Intensive + to 35 lessons a week.
We also offer Business English Courses - Business Standard and Business Executive. These courses include a Standard Course, plus 10 lessons per week of business group class for Business Standard Course and 10 lessons per week plus of private one to one business classes per week for Business Executive.
There's a special course offered by our school utilizing the unique location of the school. There are many horse riding estates in Hout Bay and we can offer a course combining English and horse riding. A typical week consists of a Standard Course and afternoon 2-3 hours of riding lessons in one of the renowned horse estates.
We can also offer a tailor made course according to individual needs - 10 lessons per week of only private one to one classes, focused on any area of the language the student needs. We can also organize English language certificate examination preparation and testing.
There are new package deals on offer - Study& Travel - You can combine your studies with tours around Cape Town and surroundings to make the most of your time in South Africa. We offer half day (cca 3 hours) trips and full day (6 hours) trips. The longer you stay with us the more you can explore.
Full Day Trips include Wine Farms, Central City, Table Mountain, Cape Point national park, Hermanus (whale watching), Lions & Crocodile Farm and similar. Half day Trips include World of Birds in Hout Bay, Seal Island boat trip, Constantia & Claremont Shopping centres, Chapman’s Peak scenic route, Township tour, Waterfront with Robben Island tour, Cape Town aquarium, Canal walk shopping centre / Ratanga Junction theme park and many more.
Work&Study package - English in Africa language school offers you the opportunity to participate on volunteer projects in South Africa and better your English at the same time. We cooperate with All Out Africa (www.alloutafrica.com) and we offer a joint package of studying English and working as a volunteer.All of the volunteer programs are located in Hout Bay. Your stay with us can make a difference in the local community and enrich your life with unforgettable experiences. You can also combine your English studies with an internship program.
English&Wine special - We prepared a special Course for Wine lovers, who would like to improve their English and knowledge of fine South African wine. We will visit our local winemakers in our neighborhood - Constantia and Hout Bay. From big producers to boutique wine makers with very small production you can enjoy and learn about the finest wine which you can't get enywhere else. Then, for a longer visits we will go to Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl. You will explore well known international large wineries, experience the tours of their cellars and production facilities, where you'll learn about the techniques and finesse of modern winery. For the unique experience we'll visit small wineries, where you'll learn about their traditional wine making techniques and thier original experiments with variety blending at their lovely wine farms.

The Standard + Course (20 + 5 private per week) costs EUR 325 per week
The Intensive + Course (30 + 5 private per week) costs EUR 375 per week
The Business Standard Course (30 lessons per week) costs EUR 245 per week
The Business Executive Course (20 + 10 business private per week) costs EUR 445 per week
The Horse Riding Special Course (20 + 15 hours of riding per week) costs EUR 300 per week - the price and time of the riding can vary as per availability and request.
The Tailor-made Private Course (10 private lessons per week) costs EUR 375 per week
PACKAGES
Study&Travel - from 2 weeks - Study and Travel Standard Course (4 hours of English a day) + 2X half day trip + 2X full day trip - EUR 560 / USD 760
Work&Travel - from 6 weeks - 6 weeks Work & Study - 2 weeks of Intensive English course (6 lessons of English a day) + 4 weeks volunteering EUR 2, 597 / USD 3, 524. Package price includes airport transfer, accommodation, 3 meals per day, tuition for English courses, course materials, internet access at the school, computer use at the school, volunteer program, orientation, helpline.
English&Wine consist of 20 lessons of English = 4 lessons per day (2 lessons of grammar + 2 lessons reading/writing) + 2 shorter visits to Constantia and Hout Bay wineries + 2 day trips to Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl wineries per week @ EUR 524.
For the full WINE experience we advise you to stay with us for 4 weeks. The price is ALL INCLUSIVE ( airport transfer, tuition, study materials, accommodation, trips to wine farms, entrance fees, wine tasting, cellar tours).
For other requirements the prices are calculated individually.
The school charges in South African Rand, the prices here are calculated at 10 ZAR / 1EUR and 7.5 ZAR/ 1 USD. Should the exchange rate change more than 5% either way, the prices will be adjusted accordingly.
