Deckhand Courses

Completing your deckhand courses prior to looking for your first job, demonstrates to your employers that you are dedicated crew member that understands what is required in order to be successful as an entry level crew member in the super yacht industry. Our industry leading standard of training ensures all our candidates enter the super yacht industry feeling prepared and ready for the challenges that lie ahead. You will spend time working with actual products used onboard as well as familiarise yourself with processes for when guests are onboard.

Our deckhand training modules include our Deckhand course, Powerboat Level 2, Jet Ski license, Day Skipper, Yacht master, Security Awareness, VHF Radio, Water Sports training, RYA modules and more.

Stewardess Training

Our stewardess training certification is run in Cape Town, South Africa. This is an entry level training course, designed for any crew member that is looking to pursue a career as as stewardess. If you are looking to work as a stewardess, we suggest that you also complete the MCA Food Hygiene course as this is fast becoming a mandatory requirement in order work on board a super yacht.

The week long Stewardess course includes the most relevant and up-to-date knowledge of how to succeed as a stewardess. The course focuses all the skills required to be a super yacht stewardess and help you understand the high levels of service, professionalism and dedicated duty required for interior yacht crew.  

Be sure to impress your Chief Stew, Captain or crew agent on your first yacht charter when you demonstrate your competence in the relevant skill sets.

Engineering Yacht Course

Our engineering specific yacht course includes the MCA Approved Engine Course (AEC) which is the first step required to climb the ladder to Chief Engineer. The Engineer departmet is highly respected and can be considered on par with the Captain.

The duties of an engineer range from maintaining and servicing generators, jet skis and powerboats to replacing oil filters, repairing water makers, monitoring air conditioning, AV, IT and even unblocking toilets.

We have put together an extensive Super Yacht Engineering training program which is an ideal entry level introduction for those seeking to work on a yacht as an Engineer. Due to the longevity of the engineering department onboard, this is an excellent avenue to explore if you are looking for real career progression, rather than a gap year experience.

Chef Training program

Our Chef Training program is designed to assist those with a professional culinary qualification to make the transition to working on board a luxury super yacht. Our Chef training offers practical hands-on skills development programmes designed to include comprehensive galley training, as well as other courses required by the maritime industry for you to complete a full training portfolio. We assist you through the entire skills programme and ensure that all the industry requirements are met to enter the exciting world of super yachting.

The course focuses on menu planning, budgeting, guest provisioning and charter lists, stock taking and recipe planning.

While formal training is not a requirement, the course is highly practical and students are required to have a reasonable level of culinary experience.
