School Introduction

We provide English language classes and third level courses from Certificate to Diploma level.

We are recognised by the Department of Education for the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language via the Advisory Council for English Language Schools (ACELS) and are members of MEI Relsa.

Host family accommodation and airport transfers arranged on request.

Drogheda has all the attractions of Dublin, with a lower cost of living and is only 30 minutes from Dublin by express train. We are 20 minutes by road from Dublin International Airport.

Edgewater College provides assistance in obtaining Irish study visas for non-EU residents. Please note that if non-EU students want to be permitted to work part-time, they need to apply for a minimum of a one year course.

ESL Program Introduction

The aim of all our English courses, whether intensive or long-term, is to improve the communicative competence of each individual in all contexts and situations – social, inter-personal, academic and commercial. Our success in delivering English language programmes will lead to students’ continuing development as they climb their individual career ladders.

The Faculty of English at Edggewater College provides English instruction under a wide variety of headings to students of varying backgrounds and with a multiplicity of end objectives. The many facets of language teaching outlined below illustrate this. Choose from English Language (General), English Language (Aviation), English Language (Medical) or English with tours and activities available on request.

All our courses are approved by the Department of Education and Science for purposes of access to employment by students who are from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.

Students may join courses at any stage throughout the year.

Tuition: Euro 140.00 per week for General English language, 20 hours per week. 1 year course price available on request.
Host family Accommodation: Euro 140.00 per week including half board weekdays, full board at weekends, or Euro 160.00 per week full board.
Airport transfer: Euro 75.00 each way
Medical Insurance: Euro 290.00 per year

Housing/Accommodation Info

We can arrange host family accommodation for our students for the first month or for the whole duration of their course. Rental of self-catering accommodation in houses and apartments is much lower than in Dublin which makes Drogheda an attractive choice for students.
