School Introduction

Margaret Harake is a fully qualified and very experienced Teacher. She holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults and has taught in China.

Your stay will include:
·20 hours of intensive one to one English lessons per week.
·Assessment test at the start of your course.
·Tape recordings of your lessons with your Teacher (optional).
·Certificate of achievement on completion of the course.

Prior to your arrival Margaret will establish your exact requirements and interests. Margaret will then design an individual bespoke training package to teach you English as a second language on a one to one basis in her beautiful Georgian home in the historic Market Town of Faringdon near Oxford.

ESL Program Introduction

In addition to your lessons, Margaret will accompany you on your chosen activities in order to consolidate your learning. Choose three activities per week. There are so many things to do and learn from such as Horse Riding, visiting the Theatre in Oxford , Bath , London or Boating on the Thames river on our boat.

A warm atmosphere awaits you in Margaret's beautiful home in the heart of Faringdon, a thriving market town close to Oxford. After breakfast, you will have lessons in the front room which looks out onto the Public Library opposite the house. Lunchtime offers a chance to relax before the afternoon's activity or independent time. In the evening you can continue practising the English you have learnt over dinner with the family, followed by a non-tuition activity, such as a visit to the pub for example, a game, or watching TV in the family sitting room. If you prefer, you can of course just relax and study in the privacy of your own room. We have wireless broadband Internet to which you will have access, along with a private phone in your room.
