School Introduction
Seattle Central Community College was chosen as the "College of the Year" by Time magazine for 2001-2002 because of its excellent programs and instruction. The Seattle area has spectacular natural scenery including Puget Sound beaches, Mt. Rainier, and Olympic National Park. There are many cultural and urban entertaiment activities. Seattle has 3 professional sports teams, including the Seattle Mariners with baseball stars Ichiro, Hasegawa, and Sasaki, local music at numerous clubs, lots of theater, opera, symphony and museums, excellent restaurants, movies & shopping, the Space Needle, and the one-of-a-kind Experience Music Project.
ESL Program Introduction
SCCC is located on Capitol Hill in safe and friendly downtown Seattle, Washington. SCCC offers a job referral service and academic scholarships for international students. It offers great opportunities to travel and explore the beautiful Pacific Northwest with our experienced activities staff. The Institute of English is one of the largest ESL programs in the US so is able to offer a wide array of programs and courses. These include the rigorous College Bridge program for those students wishing to transition into an American college or university, an Internship program for those interested in work experience, and an exciting and varied program of electives.
