School Introduction
Opened in 1997, GEOS San Francisco is located on Market Street right in front of Montgomery station. The school currently occupies the 4th and 5th floors in the Flatiron Building which is also a San Francisco landmark.
GEOS San Francisco is only a couple minutes walk from the closest bus stops, and literally an “elevator ride” away from the closest BART/MUNI station. The school is also close to Union Square, where you can find world class shopping, exotic restaurants and lively night clubs. Students can always find something to do at any hour of the day and night!
All GEOS schools are famous for their student services; GEOS San Francisco is no exception! The school has a friendly and warm atmosphere that makes you feel at home. We have an “open-door” policy; students can come to the staff anytime and discuss anything. No matter if it is academic counseling or ideas for a party, we will always have an answer for you!
At GEOS San Francisco, we also have a special prize for students. In the end of every month, all the teachers and staff will nominate one hard-working student and vote on the best candidate. The winner will be announced as the “Student of The Month” to award their effort in learning English. Not only does the “Student of The Month” receive a certificate from GEOS San Francisco, but they also receive a $25 gift certificate from a bookstore!
ESL Program Introduction
Intensive English Course
GEOS Intensive English classes feature a comprehensive curriculum with a focus on oral communication, speaking and listening. Well trained, qualified instructors help students improve their conversation skills through a variety of creative activities. At the end of every four-week session, each student will receive a written evaluation and have a consultation with their teacher. This is how we help you monitor your progress.
TOEFL Preparation Course
The GEOS TOEFL preparation course is designed to help international students who want to enter American colleges and universities. Students work with two different instructors and the most up-to-date, effective textbooks and materials available. The class focuses on vocabulary building, critical listening and reading, essay writing, and improvising speaking. Every TOEFL exam is different, but every test has the same kinds of questions. Therefore, the class also emphasizes on TOEFL skills and test strategies building to help students get higher scores.
Business English
Our Business English class is designed to help international business professionals prepare to use English in both present and future work situations. You will develop English communication skills with a focus on business contexts and environments and learn vocabulary that is used regularly in the business world. This class will help you practice and enrich your communication skills by using English in specific business settings and situations.
Private/Semi-Private Lessons
GEOS San Francisco can customize a class for you! Our Private-Semi-Private lessons are always tailored for each individual or group based on their needs. Before starting the class, students meet their instructor and discuss which fields they would like to improve and focus. Then, the teacher designs a syllabus to meet students’ specific needs. Class hours are also flexible
Holiday Group
These custom designed group courses are for teens 14 ~18 and include English lessons, after-school activities, and homestay.

Accommodation is a very important part of your stay with us and we have a number of options for you. (On the left) Options: 1. Host Family 2. Hotels and Hostels 3. Flats/Apartments You can choose from a number of different accommodation options. 1. Host Family A host family will offer you the perfect opportunity to learn more about American Culture, lifestyles, and also give you many opportunities to practice your English. All our families live in safe residential areas that are usually 30 minutes to 1 hour from our school. Each student is offered their own private room and given 2 meals (breakfast and dinner) from Monday to Friday and 3 meals on Saturday and Sunday. Our host families have all been visited and reviewed by our Student Services Coordinator. Some host families may host more than one student. However, we always do our best not to put people of the same nationality together (unless specifically requested). 2. Hotels and Hostels We can recommend a good selection of residential hotels and hostels that are close by to our school. Some even give discounts for our students! 3. Flats/Apartments We can give information and advice on renting an apartment for short and long term stays.
