School Introduction
Mid-Continent University is a private, Christ-centered, four-year, liberal arts institution located in Mayfield, Kentucky. ESL Program Introduction
The School for Global Business English (SGBE) exists to equip students for full-time study at English-speaking universities and for successful careers that requre English fluency. This intensive program is for students who may need additional help with English prior to beginning an undergraduate program. Instruction if provided to students from all over the world through on-campus and off-campus programs.
The SGBE seeks to: provide English instruction on 3 levels (high beginner, intermediate, and advanced), facilitate speaking proficiency through the required homestay program, create a variety of opportunities for speaking English through afternoon or weekend visits to local businesses or nearby cities (Nashville, Memphis or St. Louis), and support students through the transition process from their own country to the United States.

Students will be placed in a local Homestay family home. Families are interiewed and selected by the School for Global Business English. Each host family must participate in an orientation program.
