School Introduction

Since 1965 the Texas Intensive English Program (TIEP) has provided high quality English language instruction, helping more than 26, 000 students and professionals from 118 countries to achieve their goals. TIEP, located in the center of Austin, the Texas capital, is the only intensive English program in central Texas to be accredited by CEA (the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation). Austin, one of the most desirable places to live and study in the U.S.A., is well-known for its excellent educational institutions, diverse recreational and cultural activities, year-round mild weather, and numerous parks and lakes.

ESL Program Introduction

TIEP offers year-round intensive English programs for academic purposes, for business and careers, and for communication and culture. Faculty are highly qualified, with graduate degrees and an average of 12 years’ teaching experience. TIEP tuition and fees include 20 hours per week of instruction, textbooks, an institutional TOEFL or TOEIC exam, placement testing, orientation program, immigration counseling, housing information, university information, Conversation Club, English Skills Center, language lab, computer lab, e-mail account, Internet access, photo ID, certificate, and selected social activities. Classes are small, dynamic, and interactive, with the goal of meaningful communication. The curriculum carefully integrates listening, speaking, grammar, reading, writing, and vocabulary skills through interesting theme-based and task-based instruction. TIEP also offers custom-designed programs for groups and individuals, afternoon Elective classes, and a part-time Evening Program for individuals who live and work in the Austin area.
