School Introduction

Greetings, and welcome to Bilingual Education Institute (BEI). From its modest beginnings in 1982, BEI has become one of the state’s foremost language and cultural training centers. In every respect, we are engaged in helping individuals acquire and understand other languages and cultures. People make an institute great, so whether you are a student, teacher, staff member, graduate, company, neighbor, or visitor, your interest and enthusiasm are valued and appreciated. It is our collective efforts, however, that today make this institute such a vibrant place to study, to learn, to work, and to make new lifetime friends.

As we all know, our world is getting smaller. We can connect with others around the globe at the click of a button. More important than ever, languages are not only a means of communication, but are also tools and skills for connecting and working with our peers. Here at BEI, our mission, first and foremost, is connecting people.
We expect our faculty to be great teachers, and our staff to be compassionate, service-oriented, and above all, effective facilitators. They embody the spirit of generosity and optimistic and tireless attitude so prevalent here. Furthermore, we offer our students a diverse yet close-knit community and state-of-the-art technology that gives them the widest possible scope for accelerated language acquisition, yet focused enough to achieve quality outcomes.

ESL Program Introduction

Our Intensive English Programs focus on essential building blocks for language acquisition: Grammar, Reading, Writing, Listening, Vocabulary/Idioms, Conversation, and Cultural Awareness.

As we begin the enrollment process for our students, we administer a comprehensive one hour and fifteen minute placement evaluation. This evaluation measures a student’s language abilities in reading, writing, conversation, and comprehension. Using the scores from the assessment, we place the students at the appropriate level. We have levels Pre-1 to Level 7 available for enrollment. Our native-speaker instructors focus on building proficiency by using structured classroom instruction, by subject, and activities during the four hour block. Every day, students delve into level appropriate textbooks and are expected to complete homework assignments and other activities, to optimize language learning.

When you finish this course, you will be able to:
Replace shyness with confidence
Recognize and be prepared for real-life communication
Strengthen your relationships through improved communications
Develop flexibility in your communication style and techniques
Convey credibility in an academic/business environment

What You Will Cover:
Improving your speaking fluency
Perfecting your grammar and speech patterns
Organizing your thoughts through writing and speaking
Adapting to and preparing for real-life situations
