NYLC is a certified English language school by the NY State Education Department. Learn English and learn Spanish! International students (I-20/F1 visa) are welcome. We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced course levels of English as a Second Language and also special advanced classes for TOEFL preparation and Business English. This English language school has 25 years of experience teaching English with 5 locations in New York.

Convenient Schedules
New York Language Center offers classes seven days a week. We are open 8am - 10pm Monday through Friday, with special hours on Saturday and Sunday. Certainly, you will find a schedule that fits your needs.
Frequent Class Starts
New classes begin each week, so you'll never wait long to begin your English classes.
Testing
Before beginning a course at New York Language Center, you will take an oral and a written placement test to determine your level. You will also be given midterm and final exams in each class, which will help monitor your progress and identify your strengths and weaknesses.
Certificate
Upon course completion, you will receive a certificate that you'll be proud to present as evidence of your accomplishments. Upon completion of individual levels, you can also receive a letter of completion.
Quality Control
We require that our instructors meet and surpass the rigorous standards of the New York State Education Department. All our instructors are highly experienced, and each must complete a thorough orientation prior to teaching with NYLC. Additionally, instructors are observed at least biweekly by a supervisor to ensure their effectiveness.
Certification and Memberships
New York Language Center is certified as an English Language School by the New York State Education Department. It is also authorized by the U.S. Department of Immigration to enroll non-immigrant foreign students. New York Language Center is a member of NAFSA (Association of International Educators), TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages), and ALTO (Association of Language Travel Organisations) and FIYTO (Federation of International Youth Travel Organisations).

Housing/Accommodation Info
Housing and insurance (costs are subject to change at any time): Housing placement fee is $150; information from NYLC to book housing yourself is free. Homestay program with continental breakfast costs $950 for four weeks in Queens or Brooklyn, $1500 for four weeks in Manhattan above 115th Street, or $1, 750 for four weeks in Manhattan below 115th Street. Flushing YMCA (Queens), costs $225 per week for student single including breakfast and access to the gym. Greenpoint YMCA (Brooklyn), costs $245 per week for student single including simple breakfast and access to the gym. We can also arrange housing in Manhattan with Sara’s Amsterdam Residence, West Side YMCA, Jazz on the Park Hostel, and many other accommodation options. Health insurance can be arranged upon request, for $50 to $100 per month. Airport pick-up costs $130 from JFK or LaGuardia airports.
