School Introduction
Northwest University is located in beautiful Kirkland, WA, just minutes from Seattle. The campus is a semi-wooded tract of fifty-six acres overlooking Lake Washington with a view of the snow-clad Olympics to the west. We have the best of both worlds - near to both mountains and water.
ESL Program Introduction
Students admitted to the Center for English Language Education (CELE) at Northwest University (NU) focus on improving their English language skills. For many, this will take them into a formal undergraduate program of study on our campus or at another institution. But our mission does not stop here. We want all students to not only improve their language skills, but also to fully participate in their communities. Students will engage with the NU community through floor retreats, chapel, sporting events, and other social gatherings. NU will also benefit from your participation as you bring unique and valuable knowledge and experience. We also want students to explore Kirkland and engage with the local city through service opportunities as a way to build bridges between cultures. Finally, we believe that all CELE students are leaders and as such we will develop the skills which will enable you to be effective not only in the workplace, but in all spheres in which you participate.
