School Introduction
The English as a Second Language Center at Mississippi State University offers students over 20 hours of language study per week in an intensive English setting. We have a strong core curriculum, elective courses, and conversation partners. We also have on-line courses for students who want to stay in their home countries to study English.
Starkville, Mississippi, the home of Mississippi State University, mixes the excitement of a university town with the charm and hospitality of a safe and friendly southern city. Many students also find time to travel during session breaks to famous southern cities such as Memphis, Atlanta, and New Orleans!
We are excited about your interest in the ESL Center at Mississippi State University and hope to see you in classes soon!
ESL Program Introduction

The content of the core curriculum for each level is focused on speaking and listening, writing and grammar, reading with intensive reading lab, culture of the United States, community service, and internships.
