It was originally named Oscar Rose Junior College in memory of the eminent Midwest City-Del City Superintendent of Schools, and was renamed Rose State College on November 1, 1983. The college offered its first classes on September 21, 1970. RSC enrolls more than 8, 000 students every term. The campus consists of more than 21 buildings on 116 acres. The college offers an array of programs and degrees in diverse fields of study. Rose State's colors are red and gold, and their official mascot is the Raider.
