Curriculum For more than sixty years our students have maintained a consistent and outstanding record of academic achievement. The Overall Positions (OP) achieved by Year 12 students each year are a testament to the College's high standard of teaching Boarding Concordia boasts some of the most modern boarding facilities you could find. Accommodation is available for over 200 students in six boarding houses with a maximum of four students in each room. Each student has an individual bed-study unit with access to computers common rooms and leisure facilities. While maintaining firm but caring discipline House parents are aware that good clean fun is a necessity for everyone. They devise creative and enjoyable activities such as tournaments camps barbecues theatre and water park visits. Boarding is available from Year 7. Ballon Outdoor Education Centre Each of our Year 10 classes spend four weeks at Ballon during first semester undertaking a program administered by teachers and outdoor education specialists. The program is designed to foster personal spiritual and social development. There is an emphasis on physical tasks - hiking orienteering abseiling rock-climbing canoeing gardening - as well as basic survival tasks - cooking cleaning and washing. The mind and spirit are also exercised through initiative activities problem solving games and periods of quiet reflection. |
