A playgroup for under 3 year olds runs weekly. We are dedicated to developing each individual student’s full potential and committed to the best of European and Australian educational and cultural values mediated in a caring community. Small classes and peaceful bush land settings allow for close attention to our students’ individual needs and provide a relaxed and stimulating learning environment. We are registered with the Board of Studies and accredited by the German education authorities. In November 2009 we were awarded “Excellent German School Abroad”. In 2008 we moved to newly built facilies within the peaceful bushland settings of Terrey Hills. Bus transport is available. The School (except the English Stream) follows the calendar of the Northern Hemisphere starting end of July until End of June. Enrolment without German language knowledge When enrolling in our Preschool primary School (up until Year 3) our English Stream starting in Year 7 or in Year 11 for the International Baccalaureate german language knowledge skill are not a prerequisite. Preschool We cater for children from 3 to 5 years of age. Children can attend 5 days per week or alternatively have the option of attending 2 or 3 consecutive days. Naturally the progression towards becoming bilingual usually occurs when children have frequent exposure to languages. For this reason we recommend that children attend for 5 days. We provide a creative curriculum embedded in the NSW Curriculum Framework. Within this they have possibilities to explore the real world driven by their interests and needs. We view children as protagonists and encourage them to construct the curriculum together with parents and teachers. All of our Preschool teachers are bilingual Highly qualified and experienced working for Preschools in both Australia and overseas. German - English Stream Starting from Year 7 we offer English Stream classes parallel to our German Stream. In the English Stream core subjects such as Mathematics english Humanities and Sciences are offered in English and according to the NSW curriculum. Key learning areas in the English Stream will be taught in English and according to the NSW curriculum. English french art music ethic and Physical Education are taught in a combined class with the German Stream. An exceptional language concept and a unique exchange programme will ensure that students learn languages beyond the classroom.
