The leading edge in Health Studies Charles Sturt University's Faculty of Health Studies is at the leading edge of education and training for the health professions. The Faculty has a particular commitment to health care delivery in regional, rural and remote communities.
Lecturers' clinical, professional and scientific backgrounds, combined with the research and resources of the Faculty, ensure that courses are relevant, up-to-date and meet the high standards set by the various accrediting bodies that regularly review the Faculty's courses. The Faculty has pioneered a number of significant ventures with the health industry and medical science community and it continues to expand the offering of its courses overseas, particularly in Asia, North America and the United Kingdom. The Faculty's partnerships with industry ensure that the knowledge and skills attained by our students are always in demand.
The Faculty of Health Studies at Charles Sturt University has more than 4500 student enrolments in a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses that span the Health Sciences and the Biomedical and Clinical Sciences. The Faculty prides itself on two key achievements: first, the relevance of its courses to employment and industry needs; and second, on its staff whose clinical, professional, research and industry backgrounds ensure that our courses are relevant, up-to-date and meet the high standards set by the various accrediting bodies and external committees that regularly review the Faculty's Courses.
Research and Consultancy in the Faculty of Health Studies
To complement the program of undergraduate and postgraduate studies, staff from the Faculty of Health Studies maintain an active involvement in a variety of research activities spanning the fields of medical radiation science, nursing, health services management, paramedical science, physiotherapy, speech pathology, gerontology, emergency management, medical science, medical and applied biotechnology, respiratory science, leisure and health, occupational therapy, habilitation, podiatry and mental health.
