Curriculum The core curriculum followed at Sunshine Christian School is the VELS {Victorian Essential Learning Standards}. All our curriculum and policies are written and assessed from a Christian perspective with provision made for the diversity of abilities cultures and interest of children who attend the school. The daily program incorporates lessons in Literacy numeracy and Integrated studies including Health History geography and Drama. Specialist Programs Each of our teachers at Sunshine Christian School are skilled and experienced classroom practitioners as well has having a special area of skill. On Thursdays all classes rotate through a specialist subject program including one hour each of Physical Education science music visual Arts and Christian Studies. Our Specialist music program for years 3-6 also includes opportunities for children to participate in Choir or recorder group. Each Tuesday we run a Resiliency program with our senior school. This program aims to expand children's worldly experiences and help build their strategies in interpersonal skills. School Buildings and Facilities In 2006 Sunshine Christian School began a bold building project which would take 3 stages and almost 4 years to complete. Through generous Australian government funding and Stimulus packages the school now has 4 brand new classrooms two computer laboratories new play areas and equipment anew administration building and a refurbished hall comprising of multi-purpose hall and fully resourced library.
