S. Bruner. We provide a unique environment in which we are able to implement our approach with ease due to smaller class sizes and a carefully planned philosophy and integrated curriculum. Responsibilities for farm animals and ponies complete the picture for a school that make kids just love coming to school. Indeed loving school is what it is all about! Village School Mission We are an independent non-sectarian and non-denominational primary school Having no specific affiliations with any other educational establishment or educational system. We aim to delight and inspire children to be resourceful independent learners. We celebrate individual differences but encourage children to develop an awareness of their place in Australian society and the global community. We want them to have an understanding of their role in supporting and caring for each other all living creatures and the natural environment. A Quality Education Children at Village School enjoy learning as they are guided to develop their own curiosity in topics resulting in a higher understanding of school subjects better learning and longer retention. This has been our aim since 1982 and it is noteworthy that this approach is now widely practiced and supported by the Department of Education and Training. We are also a “growth” school. Learning is promoted as an exciting enjoyable real and ongoing life experience. A good education should provide your child with more than just preparation for a successful economic life. We balance the academic program with many real life experiences. We access the local community and the resources available within it. We take children on camps Have school sleepovers and involve the children in real life problems and solutions in the Village School environment. Academic & Life Skills Our interactive Literacy program takes into consideration the various learning styles of young children their differing rates of progress and prior knowledge. We therefore incorporate a range of teaching materials to support reading and writing and we have a focus on phonics. Everyone knows the 3 R's - Reading writing and Arithmetic which are taught in schools worldwide and these are the academic skills we need to survive in our society. However in order to be successful in a fast changing world our children are going to need more than that!Village School offers your child the regular 3R's plus the 5R's for Character .
