The Bahrain Bayan School
Bahrain Bayan School was founded in September 1982 by a group of
concerned parents with the specific aim of providing a quality bilingual
education. The objective of the school is to provide an educational
environment which will effectively encourage the child to become
a self-directed and motivated individual, capable of appreciating
the inherent value of education and applying it to life itself.
The school is rich in Arabic culture and tradition, thus ensuring
a blend of East and West. The growth and success of the Bayan School
- from an initial enrollment of 92 students to 1,075 by 2004-2005
has been rapid and impressive.
There is an instructional staff of 102 in addition to three professional
administrators. The school provides an academic program of high
quality along with a broad extra curricular program. Emphasis is
placed on the needs and development of each individual, focusing
on personal and interpersonal skills. Bayan School is a college
prep school which offers both the IB and High School Diploma programs.
The school's campus consists of seven buildings including the pre-school,
the elementary, the intermediate, the secondary and the administration,
a multi-purpose hall, a library and a cafeteria. Other facilities
include an air-conditioned sports tent and outdoor tennis and basketball
courts along with a soccer field. The student-centered curriculum
assists learners to achieve potential in all aspects - intellectual,
emotional and physical. The learning experience is based on 'hands-on'
activities, problem-solving situations and basic skills applications.
The curriculum is constantly monitored and updated to ensure these
goals are met.
