General Technology Studiesis offered to students who need to improve prerequisites for a SAIT program, have not yet decided on a program or are waitlisted for a program. Pre-Careers and Transitions are also offered in which students can take upgrading courses to gain the requirements for SAIT's academic programs. Programs of study include Math, Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), English, Computer Basics, Keyboarding, and Portfolio Building. English Language Foundations: SAIT's English Language Foundations (ELF) program provides English language upgrading for students whose first language is not English. It is designed to help you to develop the English skills needed for success in any English-speaking environment and in particular, for academic study at SAIT. To apply, please send a completed application form, your high school transcripts (translated into English), and payment for the application fee of $500 Canadian. Upon arrival at SAIT, you will be tested on the CLBA (Canadian Language Benchmarks Assessment) for accurate placement within the program. It is important that you arrive one week before the beginning of classes. Each eight-week level of ELF costs $2, 180 Canadian. The International Centre is the hub of activity and services for all international students. It was created to help international students adjust to SAIT and to life in Canada. International students have access to all student services at SAIT as well as a number of additional services offered by the Centre: academic advising, admissions, airport greeting, bookstore and computer store, campus health services, chaplains, cultural counseling, health care advising, housing (home stay and on-campus residence), orientation, international student room, Internet access and e-mail address, job search assistance, Learning Skills Centre, personal counseling and referral, pre-departure assistance, recreational facilities, restaurants, study and work permit issues, volunteer opportunities, and more!
