Bali International SchoolBali International School is an independent co-educational school
that serves the needs of the Bali expatriate community. The school
began in 1986 with the approval of the Indonesian Government and backing
of a few concerned parents. Today the school boasts a significant
roll growth with students of some 25 nationalities, well-resourced
classrooms, good facilities and a pleasant Balinese environment in
which to work. The school's classes range from pre-school through
to grade 12.
The experienced international staff at Bali International School
provides programmes from western curriculum with an international
perspective created through the use of the talents of the parent
body as well as the many resources Bali offers. Indonesian teacher
assistants work in each class. School resources include extensive
technology, sports fields, science lab, art/tech block, library,
media centre, computer laboratory, music suite, as well as a wide
range of well-resourced extra-curricular activities including environmental
excursions and camps. Plant construction has steadily continued
for several years. The school is governed by a Board of Directors,
managed by a School Director and is supported by an active parent
foundation. The school follows the guidelines and policies of its
legally recognised Constitution. The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools
and Colleges (California, USA), as well as the International Baccalaureate.
