The program is based on an international curriculum. In the Junior and Middle schools, the PYP and MYP of the IBO have been introduced. The Upper School program is college preparatory pffering the IB or American High School Diploma. Students are given counselling in planning for university entrance. ISF is a testing centre for PSAT, SAT I and II. Instruction is in English. Students all study Italian. The school takes advantage of its setting in Florence to study history, art and architecture, and there are frequent field trips to places of interest in the surrounding area. There are elective courses in music, theatre, art, drama, French, computers and physical education. The Junior School (Pre-School-Grade 5) is housed in a Renaissance villa in the Tuscan countryside. The property includes three large play areas, formal gardens, olive orchards and vineyards. It is a twenty-minute drive from the centre of Florence. Transportation can be arranged. Facilities include a large library, art studio, music room, Macintosh computer laboratory and a lunch room. The middle and upper schools are housed in a thirteenth century Florentine villa located in the heart of Florence. The campus includes a state-of-the-art library, computer room, three science laboratories, a lunch room with terrace and multiple classrooms.
