The International School of Treviso was founded in 1995 and now has eleven classes ranging from nursery to middle school.

The school aims to prepare children for a rapidly changing global community, appreciating the inter-dependence of all peoples and communities in a world of limited resources. The school creates a welcoming, supportive, calm and organized environment where consistently high expectations of standards and behaviour are paramount to realise all individuals’ positive self-esteem and full potential.

The broad, balanced curriculum is bilingual and international and ensures continuity and progression in order that the children can communicate and learn effectively in both the English and Italian languages. The school is authorized to offer the inquiry based Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) and draws on the experience of the teachers and national curricula of England, America, Australia and Italy. The school respects quality and diversity and encourages team work and cooperation.

Every class has an English mother tongue fully qualified teacher. Italian language is also taught by mother tongue teachers. This has enabled the school to be enrolled in the Italian National Register for Private Schools.

The curriculum is delivered in two languages, English and Italian and Spanish in secondary school.

The school year runs from early September to June, Monday to Friday 8.30 – 15.15/15.30.

In September 2005 the school moved from the centre of Treviso to a newly refurbished building fit for purpose, enabling provision of a sports hall, assembly hall, computer suite, library in addition to art room, lunchroom and classrooms.

Local and international visits are encouraged to enable the children to have first-hand experiences and practice their languages.
