School Introduction

Situated just 3 minutes away from the Mediterranean sea, Alpha School of English is a small, independent school located in the north of Malta.

The school lies close to all tourist amenities and is conveniently situated on a main bus route in St Paul’s Bay. A historic fishing village, St Paul’s Bay is popular with British tourists ensuring that our students have plenty of opportunity to listen to spoken English outside the classroom.

Established in 1991, we offer a range of courses for both adults and juniors. In the winter months we focus our energies on preparing students for examinations such as IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge PET, KET and FCE. In the summer months, our classes are mostly filled with teenagers and young adults who avail of our Vacation English and specialised Sports and Adventure Sports Courses.

ESL Program Introduction

Lessons at Alpha School of English are tailored to provide students with the opportunity to practice the four skills; reading, writing, listening and speaking. However, our methodology ensures that speaking and conversation are given most prominence, as the majority of English language students are weakest in this area.

The maximum number of students per class is 10 (adults), 12 (juniors) but students will generally find themselves in a class with an average of 5 to 6 students.

Our courses consist of 20 lessons a week, which are held from 9am to 10.30am and 11am to 12.30pm. Students following Intensive Courses have an additional lesson from 1pm to 2.30pm. The price of the course includes registration fee, course materials and a leaving certificate.
