ISY is a top-tier benchmark school in Myanmar with an average of 700 students from 36 countries in attendance. ISY offers an American core curriculum, as well as the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. Upon graduation, 98% of ISY's graduates attend colleges and universities of their choice around the world. ISY is committed to a program that reflects both the school community's high expectations for academic rigor and the needs of the multinational student body. ISY encourages students to pursue a wide range of interests beyond the classroom. In partnership with parents, the school community fosters the development of each student's potential by seeking a balance of academic, physical, social, emotional and aesthetic pursuits. The International School Yangon is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is a member of the East Asian Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS). As part of ISY's strategic goal to develop and implement plans to ensure quality, purpose-built facilities that support the curriculum, co-curriculum, security, safety, and health needs of ISY students, the school is undergoing a campus expansion and facilities renovation. Of the three phases of development, Phase I will add 145,000 square feet of state of the art facilities to the existing ISY campus. Phase I: Science, Arts and Sports Center will be completed by December 2016. The ISY experience provides students with a challenging international education that equips learners with the skills and experiences to bring to fruition the essence of the school mission: to develop socially engaged, self-motivated, creative, compassionate individuals who will be a force for positive change in their communities and the world. |
