Reunion Education

Climate:

R?nion's climate is tropical, with temperatures affected by elevation. The average coastal temperature is between 64?F and 88?F (18-31?C), with temperatures dropping in the interior. Humidity is high. The island has two seasons: summer and winter.

Language:

French is the only official language of Reunion. Although not official, R?nion Creole is also spoken. One can hear it in any administration or office, but education is only in French.

Currency:
The franc was the currency of R?nion until 2002. Before 1973, R?nion had its own franc, distinct from that of France. After 1973, the French franc circulated. R?nion now uses the euro. The R?nion franc was subdivided into 100 centimes.
