You can obtain a prominent and sought after tertiary
qualification in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Management or
Tourism Management at the new state of the art School on the Auckland
Park Campus, within the new University of Johannesburg from 1 January
2005.
The students enrolling for the Hospitality Management
programme will follow a generic first year and in the second year they
will choose their direction of study according to the electives which
will allow for specialisation in Accommodation Management, Food and
Beverage Operations, Professional Cookery, Events Management and
Culinary Studies and Nutrition (depending on minimum numbers).
Selection Procedures do apply. There are two intakes
annually (January and July).
The Technikon Witwatersrand's National Diploma
Tourism Management is a minimum of three years full-time including
experiential learning in the last semester. It is one of only three
programmes in Southern Africa with a World Tourism Organisation (WTO)
accreditation. The BTech Tourism Management is a post grad
qualification (part time: evenings).
BREAKING NEWS:
B Tech and M Tech Hospitality Management degrees are
now available - part time or full time as well as a B Tech Tourism
Management (part-time).
A BA Tourism Development is offered in conjunction
with the Faculty of Humanities, Department of Historical Studies.
An alternate way to obtain the ND Hospitality
Management while employed in the Industry is to do a Block Release.
