understanding of the unique demands of the South African as well as
international business environment.

first business school in Africa to receive an international
EQUIS
accreditation. The USB
was also the first business school of a South African university to receive
the international
AMBA
accreditation for its
MBA programme.
South African accreditation The USB MBA is
fully accredited by the
Council on Higher Education.
The USB is one of only six South African business schools offering an MBA
with full accreditation.
As an internationally
accredited business school with an internationally accredited MBA programme,
the USB offers you the benefits of quality education focused on the
development of management and leadership in South Africa.
Degree programmes The University of
Stellenbosch Business School (USB) offers MBA,
Masters, MPhil and
PhD
programmes - all focused on the business development of management and
leadership in South Africa. Our contribution to knowledge comes from the
extensive research on all aspects of management and business undertaken by
our lecturers, PhD students and research centres. The USBoffers an internationally accredited full-time MBA (1 year of lectures plus
research report), part-time MBA (lectures over 2 years plus research report) and modular MBA
(lectures over 3 years plus research report). Our MBA
programme is aligned with international best practice and focuses on the
development of high-level leadership competencies which lead to organisational success in
unstable environments. The
programme's four phases cover the basic principles of management, functional
and integrated management, management in context and finally a research
report. The core course includes general and financial management skills,
marketing, human resources, information systems management as well as
production, international and strategic management. Although a
generalist approach is followed, there is ample opportunity for
specialisation through a selection of electives. We also have a strong
research focus in order to contribute to new knowledge and we believe in a high level of interaction between student and lecturer. Because of the
exchange rate favouring European and American students, these students will
find that they can follow programmes of international standing at our School
at extremely competitive prices. The MBA fees are payable in ZAR (SA Rand)
and the cost for 2004 is 11 000 Euro.
