The School consists of a High School (Grades 11-12), Middle School (Grades 6-10) and Junior School (Preschool-Grades 5). The curriculum of the ISB is based on the guidelines from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) in Geneva. As an IB World School, ISB is authorised to offer all three IBO programmes, IB, MYP and PYP. In addition the ISB is fully accredited by the Council of International School (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The language of instruction is English. German, the language of the region, is taught beginning in Pre-School. French and Spanish are offered as a second foreign language option in the upper grades. Students, who not fluent in English, may receive additional English instruction depending upon the grade level. ISB is able to offer limited learning support. ISB facilities include Junior School and Senior School libraries with Internet research labs, six science laboratories, six computer labs and nearly 650 PCs connected to a high-speed network system. Both campuses have large gymnasiums, playing fields, auditoriums and canteens that seat over 250-300 each. |
