Local students are also welcome. The diverse nationalities of students and staff in this three-country region make it truly an international school. The school offers the IBPYP, IBMYP and IBDP for 3 to 18 year olds from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The International Baccalaureate Programmes promote the education of the whole person, emphasizing intellectual, personal, emotional and social development. The language of instruction is English with German taught throughout the school at native, intermediate and beginner levels. French is offered in Grades 5 to 10. Extra support is given in English if required and learning support is available. The school is housed in a four-storey building and three additional buildings. The school has two fully equipped science laboratories, a computer lab, a library and art rooms. A sports field and playground equipment is available outside for the students. Local sports halls and swimming pool are used for physical education. Many co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are offered to enhance the programme. The school is located in Buchs SG, in eastern Switzerland. Buchs SG is close to Liechtenstein and is approximately 120 kilometres from Zurich. The school is accessible by public transport. A school bus service is provided between St. Gallen and the school. A private taxi service is available between Liechtenstein and the school. ISR welcomes parental involvement and there are a number of opportunities for families to be involved in the school and to meet at social events.
