Study at Bromsgrove International School – New Era New Choices ThailandModern British EducationBromsgrove International School Thailand (BIST) offers a first-class education to boys and girls, from 2 to 18 years old (Pre-Nursery to Year 13), day and boarding, based on the British National Curriculum and fully endorsed by Bromsgrove School, England. Founded in 1553, Bromsgrove believes that flair, discipline, respect and academic rigour make for a happy, dynamic school, and that the breadth of education offered must reflect what are required for the 21st century.
Success Beyond the Classroom
At BIST, we believe that a truly broad education
extends beyond the classroom. Our pupils are challenged to aim high in
all they do, and in providing a wide range of extra-curricular
opportunities we seek to encourage all our students to discover and
develop their talents, so that all our students may fulfil their true
potential. The School’s vision is to bring to Thailand a first class
International School which identifies and develops the potential of
individual pupils, provides them with the best achievable qualifications
and prepares them for life. In pursuing this vision, BIST is aiming to
become one of the top ranked British curriculum Schools in Thailand with
a strong focus on academic, arts, music, drama and sports.
Clean and Green Environment
Set in a stunningly beautiful location overlooking the new 9-hole golf
course extension to Panya Park’s 27-hole golf course, Bromsgrove
International School will set the standards for teaching, learning and
state of the art facilities while reflecting the ancient traditions and
fundamental values of its sister school in England. The location
provides students with a choice to study in an ideal learning
environment, clean, green and away from the hustle and bustle of the
city. The School is
15 minutes away from the new Bangkok International Airport scheduled to
open in September 2005.
Boarding– A New Choice for Parents
Boarding facilities are to be made available in time
for term 2, in January 2006, for those that may wish to join the School
from further afield or simply to avoid the Bangkok traffic.
Boarding provides an excellent opportunity for the students to use the
school’s excellent academic and sporting facilities after school as well
as valuable experience of working and living as a member of a strong
community with a common purpose. Boarding is universally recognized as
excellent preparation for adult life, but within a carefully structured,
monitored and supportive framework. Boarding offers additional
opportunities for pupils to develop self-discipline, excellent
individual study habits and experience in working as a member of a
team.
All boarding pupils are allocated to a house during their time at
Bromsgrove. Boarding houses are run by a resident houseparent who is not
only responsible for the overall academic and pastoral development of
each pupil, but also for providing a happy and caring home for boarders,
some of whom may be a long way from home for the first time.
The houseparent is assisted by a team of tutors who help with the
day-to-day running of the house, and who are regularly on duty in the
house during the evenings. The tutor guides and advises tutees on their
academic work and personal development and provides a 'listening ear'.
Tutors regard it as vital to their work to keep in close contact with
parents and guardians so that they can also share in the development and
progress of their sons and daughters. The partnership with parents is
valued at Bromsgrove.
By cutting out the twice-daily journey between home and school, and by
providing leisure and recreational facilities on-campus, boarding
education truly maximises educational and extra-curricular
activities.
For those interested in pursuing golf as a sport or
perhaps even a career, the School provides students of all levels of
ability, the chance to be professionally introduced to the game of golf.
The Programme will help the students become more knowledgeable about the
game, how they can increase their enjoyment of this sport and receive
instruction on how best to develop their skills.
The Programme will also give an elite squad of junior
golfers the opportunity to progress towards their goals and ambitions in
the golfing world. Through our international coaching staff and networks
across the globe, we can offer your children the chance to realise their
dreams through a professional programme of practice, playing and
activities. Your child will learn how to maintain a positive balance
between education, effective golf practice and personal tournament
schedules. The School understands the demanding nature of junior golf
schedules and the conflict with educational programmes. Bromsgrove
International School has therefore appointed its own in house
professional, Jed Moore, who will take personal, hands on approach to
build up a programme that caters to both needs. Through working with the
parents, student and School it is believed that the best schedule for
the student can be attained.
Jed Moore has recently progressed from the University
of St. Andrews, Scotland where he was part of the Royal & Ancient (R&A)
scholarship programme. Here he reached the pinnacle of University golf
in the UK, exemplified in his achievement of becoming British
Universities Stroke play champion. Now embarking on his professional
career he is completely in touch with what is required to reach the
highest level of amateur golf and beyond. Through an association with
European tour professionals, your son or daughter will be given the best
possible advice and opportunities to progress.
Bromsgrove International School has formed a
partnership with Tony Meechai and Heartland Golf Schools to provide
access to their well recognised high quality teaching methods and golf
programmes in Thailand and overseas. Pro Tony is a well known figure in
the Golf teaching world in Thailand. He is excited by the prospect of
working with Bromsgrove Golf Programme to help all student golfers at
Bromsgrove reach their full potential.
This gives Bromsgrove a unique edge as it combines
the knowledge and expertise from all corners of the globe, giving your
child exposure to numerous cultures, the English language and the best
golf teaching available.
As well as the on campus facilities, access to Panya
Park Golf Course and driving range will provide the ideal place for your
child to apply skills learned on campus. Students will have a continual
exposure to golf, helping to develop consistency and life skills.
