The Ruamrudee International School serves the international community
of Bangkok and outlying suburbs. Enrolment averages 1,800 students

many holding advanced degrees. Ongoing professional development
is a priority. Twenty-six percent of the staff have been with the

extended its accreditation by another six-year term to the entire
system of education from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The school is
also accredited by the Thai Ministry of Education and the Association
of Indian Universities. The Ruamrudee International School's 27-acre campus is located
22 kilometers from downtown Bangkok. Facilities include 146 air-conditioned
classrooms, 14 science labs, 10 computer labs, three libraries,
two auditoriums, arts and drama rooms, four cafeterias, three playing
fields, six covered gyms, two tennis courts, two swimming pools
(25 m. and 50 m.), a performing arts center, and a church. Student guidance and intervention are provided by trained psychologists
and counselors. Specialists are available to support children with
special needs and mild learning disabilities. An Intensive English Program was started in 1996 to serve children
with minimal or no English, so that they may, after one or two years
of accelerated English study, cope as a student of the school. The
program later became known as the Intensive Learning School and
was awarded a license from the Thai Ministry of Education in October
2003. It is now a sister school to Ruamrudee IS. Students may benefit
from a personalized educational experience and graduate either from
this sister school or matriculate to Ruamrudee International School
to complete a college preparatory program.
