It aims to provide a high quality, internationally based education to students of different nationalities. GAU The American College follows a British-based curriculum with Turkish taught throughout the grades. In the elementary sections of the College our students are prepared for the Cambridge Young Learners exams (Starters, Movers and Flyers). In the College our students are offered KET, PET, IELTS, IGCSE as well as AS/A Level and DELF French exam. All staff are fully qualified and hold degrees and teaching credentials. The teaching staff has been recruited internationally with eight different nationalities represented. The school is located at the base of the Besparmak Mountains, overlooking the Mediterranean. The facilities have fully functional multimedia, internet connected computer labs, science labs, music hall, art studio, dance studios, basketball and tennis courts, indoor sports salon and swimming facilities in addition to the classrooms. The program offered by the school includes a variety of extra-curricular activities for all pupils to ensure that the education offers creative, artistic and expressive areas to complement the academic areas. Participation in the local and regional tournaments such as basketball, track and field, football, swimming, fencing as well as art, mathematics, science and language continue throughout the year. The school academic year begins in September and finishes in June. Summer programmes are available. An English examination is required for those students wishing to enter second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade. Provision is made for ESL students. |
