School Introduction
Umbrella English offers a unique English Language Adventure Summer School for 14-18 year olds. We are located at a castle on the Heritage Coast of the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan in Wales. Our aim is to stretch and develop the learner's English language knowledge and build confidence into their English language usage. We concentrate on functional English to help develop natural and confident speech with good grammar, pronunciation and understanding of idiom.
Our course is residential and is aimed at teens to young adults with a desire for adventure. All our teaching and activity training takes place within the castle, its grounds and the beach area. There is an indoor and an outdoor pool available as well as extensive grounds and an on-site arts centre.
Cardiff, capital of Wales, is only 15-20 minutes away and considered one the best shopping and leisure cities in europe so we hope you will enjoy visiting.
ESL Program Introduction
Our language course concentrates on the use of functional English for accurate and natural communication.
Classes are kept small to enhance learning and we aim never to exceed 12 to a class.
Language lessons are based around the activities we run; so all the language learning is to a purpose and is immediately used within the activity. The language is then revised in language games and challenges in the early evening. In this way the language learning circle is completed: absorb, use, revise. In total this represents over 30 hours of training in English per week.
The aim of our summer course is to provide an adventure in English language learning within a fun and relaxed environment.
Our summer courses involve language lessons, challenging activities, twice-weekly excursions, and a two-day trip to London.
Come under our English language umbrella, we cover everything.

Deposit to confirm booking: 2 week courses £300.00; 4 week courses £500.00

Housing/Accommodation Info
Students are housed in shared student accommodation with 4 beds per room and a shared kitchen and common room per block. Private rooms are available on application and incur an extra charge. Meals are served in the castle refectory but students are welcome to use the shared kitchens for extra drinks and snack preparation.
