School Introduction Come study English in beautiful coastal southern Maine at the University of New England. UNE is a private, coeducational, comprehensive university with two distinctive campuses located in one of the most desirable locations in the Eastern United States. The university was founded in 1831 and has grown into a dynamic university serving more than 3, 500 students in our undergraduate, graduate, and medical programs. ESL Program Introduction
The Office of Continuing Education offers an Intensive English Language Program (IELP) for international students at least 18 years old who wish to improve their English skills for success in school, social, or business situations. Our IELP is offfered each summer as well as during the academic year in 8-week sessions. The intensive English classes meet 20 hours per week and provide instruction in: Reading, Writing, Vocabulary, Grammar, Listening, Speaking, and Pronunciation. Classes range in size from 5 to 15 students to make sure you receive maximum benefits from your instruction and personal attention from your instructors.
