School Introduction
Southern States University (SSU) is an Accredited private American university founded in 1983 in Orange County. With four campuses in San Diego and one in Newport Beach, SSU is focused on training business-oriented professionals from around the world. The University offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Certificate Program, and ESL.
Our campuses are located in the most exciting cities: La Jolla, Pacific Beach, San Marcos, Newport Beach and Las Vegas. They are in high tech business areas that allow easy access to several American Corporations for visitation and internship.
ESL Program Introduction
SSU’s pedagogical approach gives students the opportunity to develop truly comprehensive English language ability, by developing skills in English reading, writing, grammar, conversation, and pronunciation. In addition, SSU offers preparation courses for specialized tests, including the TOEFL and TOEIC. SSU’s fun, challenging, and productive learning environment is well-suited to prepare students for success in their future personal, academic, and professional pursuits.
When you’re not studying, Newport Beach, in the Orange County area, is one of the most beautiful and glamorous places in America. Gorgeous beaches, high fashion shopping areas, delicious restaurants, and exciting nightclubs are all within a few miles of your new home. Of course, Disneyland, Universal Studios, Hollywood, and Beverly Hills are nearby as well and we will be here to help you see it all. We even have seasonal school trips to explore our most interesting cultural spots!

· 6 hours core and 1.5 hour topic class per day

· Available from 9am – 4:30pm in San Diego campuses only
TOEFL Preparation
· 18 Hours per week
· 3 hours TOEFL and 1.5 hour topic class per day
· Monday through Thursday
· Available mornings in San Diego

Housing/Accommodation Info
Once you receive your student visa, Southern States University can assist you with your living arrangements. Accommodation options include short and long-term housing, such as a hotel or an apartment, home-stay (living in a family environment, including breakfast and dinner), or a shared a room with another student in a “student hotel”. The cost and availability of housing varies by location, so please contact your campus of interest for details. Once you have received your visa, please forward SSU a copy of your visa, along with a US$ 150 placement fee to secure your space. NOTE: Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from school each day
