School Introduction

St. Stanislaus College Preparatory, founded in 1854, is an all-boys, private boarding school located on the beautiful beach of the Mississippi Gulf Coast 50 miles east of New Orleans. Operated by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, the school accepts students in grades 7-12.

St. Stanislaus is one of the largest Catholic resident middle and high schools for boys in the United States. Since boarding has been a central component and a mainstay of the school, to live at SSC is to experience the richness of a tradition of more than 150 years. Resident students come from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Over the years, students from 52 countries and 42 states have profited from the rich education and character building offered by St. Stanislaus. This diversity promotes a heightened awareness of each student's value and provides opportunities for appreciation of other cultures and for lasting friendships with students from other countries.

ESL Program Introduction

St. Stanislaus offers an ESL Winter and Summer Camp and an ESL Academic Year.

The ESL Winter and Summer Camp is a 4-week intensive English and cultural immersion program that combines 18 hours of classroom learning with fun, educational activities and cultural excursions such as visits to New Orleans museums, zoo, acuarium, Mardi Gras Museum, Jazz and Blues concerts, NASA and Disney World.

The ESL Academic Year students live with U.S. and international students in dormitories and attend classes such as Math, Science, Computer Technology, History, Art, English Literature, English as a Second Language and more. After classes, students participate in extracurricular activities such as football, soccer, baseball, basketball, sailing and more. Each evening, students attend at least two hours of study time. Weekends include coordinated cultural excursions.
